Mortal Kombat remake

New Line Cinemas has announced that director Kevin Tancharoen has signed on to create a brand new film adaptation of the hit video game series 'Mortal Kombat'. It's been a long road for Tancharoen - inspired by the original series, the 27-year old choreographer pulled together a modest budget and hired professional actors to perform in his reimagined film pitch, entitled'Mortal Kombat: Rebirth'. Starring Michael Jai White and Jeri Ryan, the short film went viral in no time, with media outlets and gaming sites scrambling for more information on it. Amidst the hype, Warner Bros. Digital Distribution was quick to snag Tancharoen and put him in charge of a whole new webseries, entitled 'Mortal Kombat: Legacy', detailing the histories of the game's central characters.

The series, while considered a success with over 10 million views on YouTube, garnered mixed reactions from the game's fanbase. Rather than sticking to Tancharoen's original idea for a grittier, more realistic look at the characters, 'Legacy' simply soft-rebooted the mythos. Fans of the original series generally enjoyed the cinematic exploits of their favorite characters, while fans of the short film were left feeling deflated. There is no news whether the new film will stray closer to the game storyline or the short film's storyline, but 'Rebirth' writer Oren Uziel has been hired to pen the upcoming project and New Line has announced that it will not be "an extension" of either previous series.

In case you missed it, here is the original short film, and the trailer from the webseries. Which one would you prefer?

Universal Pictures is developing an update to the classic film 'Scarface'.

Details are scarce on the project, but the studio has made it very clear that this new project would not be a direct remake of either the original 1932 film starring Paul Muni, nor the iconic 1983 film starring Al Pacino. Instead, the new film will once again center around an immigrant, an outsider who forces his way into the criminal establishment in the pursuit of a dark version of the American dream, only to rise and fall through violence, greed, and ambition.

Well it seem that the Dark Knight Rises has a upgraded Batman's vehicle again, this time with a batwing. Personally I think its not a great idea, but Christopher Nolan has never disappointed anyone yet.

I would not be surprised if Skittles actually use this as one of their commercials. Nowadays all candy ads have been filled with the dumbest situations to promote their products.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes review

Well I'm not very familiar with the original series, this movie is filled with a huge si-fi vibe. The CGI is impressive even thought at times you could it is fake, but that doesn't stop the you from loving the main character, Ceaser. I do believe in the future people who act through motion capturing will get awards for it because what this movie does show is the potential of motion capturing actors and how much life they give to these characters. I recommend to go see this movie, because it is one of the best si-fi, action, dramatic movies of the year. It is a great movie for people not familiar with the franchise and will likely start a new generation of Ape fans.

first post

oh what to blog?
blogging is probably the only thing I'd do now that I'm stuck at home alone and trying to find my place in this world. Let me just that reality is different for all of us and no one should tell you what isn't sane because it's up to you to make that judgement.
